URGENT NEED!
MAG needs your help to get our next field aircraft ready to serve!
The remaining $350,000 for this project is needed by the end of December 2025
WHY do we need this?
Missionary Air Group currently has the ONLY missionary and medical support aircraft flying in the ENTIRE country of Honduras. Over the 20 years we’ve operated in Honduras, the demand has only continued to grow and our ONE aircraft is no longer adequate to handle the load. And, whenever the airplane is unavailable (flying a mission, or down for scheduled maintenance, etc.) that leaves ZERO ability to dispatch potentially lifesaving flights.
In order to more reliably meet current demand, and also have the ability to expand services to other areas of Honduras, MAG needs to prepare and send another aircraft to our Honduras program, and that time is now!
WHY does this need to happen so quickly?
Completing all the work needed to make an aircraft “field ready” takes approximately 12 months.
The work will be done by a partner ministry in Ohio, MMS Aviation, that doesn’t charge mission organizations any labor cost, saving us literally hundreds of thousands of dollars on the total project. There’s usually a very long wait to get on their production schedule, but MMS has an opening starting in late December 2025, allowing the aircraft to be available to deploy by early 2027. Therefore, it has to go into refurbishment pretty much immediately – and the funds for parts and materials need to accompany the airplane.
WHAT is this COST of the whole project?
This is estimated to be a $450,000 project. The first $100,000 has already been raised and used to purchase a great used Cessna 206 (G model) airframe. Here’s the breakdown:
WHAT is the potential IMPACT?
Honduras has one of the lowest ranked health systems and health outcomes in the Western Hemisphere and the second lowest in Central America. Approximately 40% of the country’s 10.83 million population is considered “rural” and approximately HALF of that number, that’s 20% (around 2.16 million people) have little or no access to healthcare “due to factors including…geographic barriers in rural areas”. MAG aircraft, and the dedicated missionary pilots who fly them, overcome these barriers!
And, here’s the REALLY big deal: Overcoming barriers to healthcare, especially in truly isolated areas, also opens doors to the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Please support MAG’s mission to deliver (medical) HELP and (gospel) HOPE by AIR!
